Website chatbot
Free AI chatbot for my website
Paste your site, pick the pages worth learning, and embed a chatbot with one script tag. It answers from your content, so it works as a customer support bot for a small business without a developer. It says so when it does not know. The Free plan has no card and does not expire.
- Price
- Free, no card
- Allowance
- 1,000 AI responses / month
- Install
- One script tag
- Needs
- Your pages, text, or files
What you get for free
The Chatbot Agent starts on a permanent Free plan. Signup creates a workspace, with no card and no trial clock. You can train it and put it on your site the same day. Free includes 1,000 AI responses a month for this agent and a small ad in the widget. A person’s message does not count. Only replies the bot writes do.
Paid plans start at $29 a month. They raise the allowance, add a lead form, a domain lock, image search, and voice notes, and remove the ad. You can stay on Free until those limits get in the way.
- Train on website pages, pasted text, and files up to 10 MB
- Up to 40 documents, 40,000 characters each
- Conversations inbox and basic analytics
- 21 colour palettes, or your own brand colour
- One bot on Free and on the Chatbot subscription, with its own embed key
It answers from your site, not from the open web
Discovery follows your sitemap and same-site links. You tick the pages to include. Those pages become documents you can edit or switch off. At each reply the bot is given the matching parts of that content and told to stay inside them.
If the answer is not there, it says it does not have that information. It does not invent a shipping policy or a price.
How to put it on the site
Add knowledge first: one URL, a batch of URLs, pasted policies, or files (text, Markdown, CSV, JSON, PDF, HTML, or a zip). Switch off any page you do not want quoted. Set the name, greeting, corner, and colour, then chat in the dashboard playground and open the website simulator to see the real embed.
Copy the embed snippet only after the answers look right, and paste it where your site allows a script. It works on a marketing site, a help center, a Webflow or WordPress page, or a storefront theme. Restricting the widget to your own domains starts on the Starter plan.
You can also paste a URL at the quick start, chat with a preview, and claim the bot into a workspace when you sign up. The preview is kept for 24 hours.
As a customer support chatbot
Point it at the help center, the shipping page, and the returns policy. Visitors get the answer you already published, in the widget, instead of waiting on a shared inbox for the same question. A question you never wrote down gets an honest “I do not have that information.”
Free includes the embed and the inbox, so you can read what people asked. The lead form, which stores the visitor’s details with the thread, starts on the paid plan. Live handoff inside the chatbot widget is not shipped yet.
- FAQ accordion inside the widget for questions you want scanned, not typed
- Reply in the visitor’s language, or lock one language
- Your own tone instructions, including emoji on or off
- Up to 25 pages per site crawl, 20 URLs per batch
For a small business website
A small team cannot sit on the site all day. The chatbot covers the questions you have already answered in public: hours, pricing notes, services, and how to book. You read the threads when you are free.
There is no model to host and no knowledge base to retype first. Paste the homepage or the services page, uncheck anything stale, and the text becomes the bot’s source. Add a PDF of a rate card or a pasted paragraph when a page does not exist yet. When the inbox shows the same after-hours questions every week, add those pages.
What the free chatbot is not
The Chatbot Agent does not read a live catalog or share a cart. “Where is my order?” and “add the blue one in size 9” are store actions, not FAQ answers. If the page is an Odoo product page and the bot should add to that cart, use the eCommerce Agent instead. It is tied to the store connection, not to a generic content bot.
Each agent is its own plan, so buying one does not unlock the others. The eCommerce Agent also has a Free plan, with 1,000 AI responses a month. The Odoo staff agent, Lead Agent, and Notetaker have no free tier. Paid checkout is opening soon, and the prices on the pricing page are the ones that will be charged.
Why the widget shows an ad
The ad is how the free widget is funded. Starter and above remove it. The answers still come from your content. The ad does not change what the bot is allowed to say.
Questions
- Is the AI chatbot actually free?
- Yes. No card, and the Free plan does not expire. It includes training, a website embed, and 1,000 AI responses a month, with a small ad in the widget.
- Will I be billed when the month ends?
- No. Free stays free. A charge happens only if you start a paid subscription for an agent. Paid checkout is opening soon.
- Do I need a store or Odoo?
- No. The Chatbot Agent only needs your content. A live catalog, cart, and checkout belong to the eCommerce Agent.
- Can it make things up?
- It is instructed to answer only from the pages, text, and files you trained. When the answer is missing, it says it does not have that information.
- How long does setup take?
- A URL quick start builds a preview in about two minutes. Claiming it, choosing pages, and pasting the script is the rest of the setup.
- Do I need a developer?
- No, if your site lets you paste a script. The quick start also builds a preview from a URL before you create an account.
- Where do I paste the script?
- Anywhere your site accepts a script: the theme footer, a tag manager, or the page template. The snippet includes the bot key.
- Can someone else embed my bot?
- On Free, the key is what loads the widget. Domain lock, which refuses other origins, starts on the paid Chatbot plan.
- Can I match my brand?
- Yes. Pick a palette or a brand colour, a font, an avatar, the corner, and a welcome screen with shortcut questions. You also set the tone instructions, the greeting, and the language. The facts still have to come from your documents.
- Can a visitor reach a person?
- Not from the chatbot widget yet. You can read the thread in the inbox. The lead form, on paid plans, collects contact details for a follow-up. Live handoff is on the roadmap.
- Is 1,000 replies enough for support?
- It is enough to learn what people ask. Starter is 5,000 AI responses a month and removes the ad. Each agent has its own allowance.
- Do the free chatbot and the free eCommerce Agent share one allowance?
- No. Each agent has its own 1,000 AI responses. The caps are not shared.
- Is every agent free to try?
- Chatbot and eCommerce are. Lead calling, the Odoo staff agent, and Notetaker are paid from the first plan.
- Can an agency run this for a client?
- Each workspace is isolated. A client site gets its own workspace, its own bot, and its own embed key.
